Background

CEDI Centre is implementing the project “Meritocracy in focus for a fair, transparent and independent judiciary”, founded by Institute for Policy and Legal Studies, which aims to ensure that the promotion of judges in Albania adheres strictly to the principle of meritocracy for a fair, transparent and independent judiciary.

In the framework of this project CEDI Centre desires to engage a legal expert who will be responsible for preparing the baseline and monitoring report.

Objective

The CEDI Centre is requesting an Expert who will be responsible for preparing the baseline and monitoring report.

Duties and responsibilities

The CEDI Centre will require the services of a Legal Expert experiences in human rights who will deliver the tasks mentioned below:

  • Preparation of the baselines assessment that aims to mapping the current situation about the promotion methodology and standards used by HJC through desk research.
  • Preparation of the final monitoring report which aims to emphasizing findings and recommendations on the application of the principle of meritocracy.
  • Reporting to the CEDI Centre within the framework of this project

Expected Outputs/Deliverables

– 1 Baseline assessment

– Monitoring report

– Report to the CEDI Centre.

 

Necessary qualifications and requirements:

  • University degree in law.
  • At least 5 years of experience in justice field;
  • Previous experience in working in the civil society field;

 

  • General knowledge on community and justice system challenges, research, monitoring, or work experience;
  • Previous experience in working with courts;
  • Very good communication skills;
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Previous collaboration with the CEDI Centre will be considered an asset.
